Simple Present

This is John. He walks in the park every sunday. He likes blue balloons because they remind him of Gremio, his soccer team. But when something goes wrong, he cries.

Present continuous

Our friend John is coming back from the circus. He is thinking about all the animals he saw there. He is walking and smiling...Oh,no! now he is crying!

Past Tense

Yesterday John went to a birthday party. He drank a lot of softdrinks and ate many candies. He also got a blue balloon. He was very happy until his balloon popped. Then he cried a lot. Poor John!
