From IPv4 to IPv6

• Built up to the IPv6 specification that we have today using various proposal submissions such as:

  • ISO CLNP– demonstrated as TUBA (TCP and UDP over Bigger Addresses)
  • IP version 7 (aka TP/IX, RFC 1475)
  • IP in IP – evolved to IP address encapsulation
  • PIP – merged into SIP creating SIPP
    (RFC 1710)
