NetScore Intelligent Agent Tracks Users Response Time To Intranet/Internet Servers, File Servers, IP Hosts and SNA Mainframes

New software teams up with web browsers to display any users service levels from any browser anywhere


Anacapa Software today announced its first product, NetScore IntelligentAgent. It is a very inexpensive solution to a fast growing network management problem. Today's already complex networks are being propelled to the intranet to take advantage of the relative ease of providing information on web browsers. This creates additional problems for network administrators and engineers. They usually do not know what Response Time Service Levels users are receiving to critical data and transactions. They can not tell when a users productivitymay be affected by poor network response time. To date there have been no simple and inexpensive tools available to address this problem. Now NetScore Intelligent Agents will give network administrators the ability to look at any users response time history from any location using standard web browsers.

NetScore software works in conjunction with browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer for viewing the data which NetScore Intelligent Agent collects. NetScore performs operations to the servers and hosts that have connectivity with the PC and the round trip response time is recorded. The operations are performed consistently on a preset schedule building a database of service level data to all hosts and servers the user needs to accopmlish tasks over the network.

Data is presented in graphs and tabular listings on browser pages for each server or host. Listed are the most recent response time, the average response time and minimum and maximum figures. Users or Network Administrators may set response time threshold conditions causing alerts to be generated when conditions warrant. No additional hardware is required to use NetScore Intelligent Agents. With this powerful but simple and inexpensive tool Network Administrators have access to critical data when users complain of poor service levels no matter where the administrator may be located. No need to be at a central monitor console to respond to response time problems.

NetScore Intelligent Agents can be used on Windows or OS/2 PC platforms for less than $100 making NetScore system configurations very affordable.
