The imigration of the Rockenbach to Brazil
To that we know the Rockenbach last name was introduced in the Rio
Grande Do Sul - Brazil in 1829 (March, 9rd 1929), year where we find the
register of the immigration of Johan Daniel Rockenbach (some times written
as Roggenbach), with 25 years of age,
bachelor.
Johan Daniel, who was born at the margins of River Mosel, in the town
of Pünderich - Germany, in December, 10rd of 1803, was one of the
first inhabitants of São José do Hortêncio,
in the Rio Grande Do Sul - Brazil, where he married Anna Margareth
Burgn on May, 2nd 1830 and they had eight children:

John Daniel built his house with
wood and rocks, in 1853. The house is still built up and is located at
the Street 17th in São José do Hortêncio
- RS.
Later on came also to Brazil , Mathias Rockenbach , John Daniel's
brother. He arrived in 1854. He was married in Pünderich - Germany
(February, 25 rd 1840) with Anna Bárbara Gibbert. They bring togheter
their seven children:
